serial #456, .270 Win, 24" barrel with a bright excellent bore. The barrel retains 95% professionally re-applied blue finish with some light handling marks. The receiver retains 97% expertly added blue finish showing a few extremely light pinprick pits that one would really have to look for. The butter knife bolt handle and body retain 95% restored blue. The floorplate has been refinished as well, showing a light rub mark on the belly and the triggerguard has faded to a pleasing plum. The checkered walnut stock with a round left side cheekpiece rates very good to near excellent as refinished. There are scattered dings and a 1/2" crack at the upper tang. The rifle is sighted with its original German silver front sight and two position flip up rear, graduated for 200 and 300 yards. All of the numbers match and the gun is fitted with double set triggers. The rifle functions well mechanically and would make a good all-around hunting gun for any game in North America.
