serial #2765, 8.15x46R, 30" octagon barrel with a very good plus bore that is bright for most of its length but shows some minor frosting. The receiver area is dulling to a gray patina with the silver inlay on both sides turning to tarnish, oxidation staining scattered throughout, a minor tool mark on left side of receiver and the follower showing a generous amount of case colors. The buttplate shows scattered oxidation staining and the barrel retains 60% original blue with scattered even fading and some scattered freckling. The Schuetzen style walnut stock rates very good with some added varnish, a few drying cracks around butt, scattered dings, light chips, handling marks and scratches. The left side of receiver is marked "SYSTEM-STAHL", the rifle takes down via the lever, the barrel and buttplate are matching to the receiver and the rifle was proofed in 1928. The rifle features double set triggers, a hooded rear and globe front sight and there is no sling hardware present. A fine German target rifle for the single shot collector.
