1707. German Ehrhardt Boxlock Drilling

serial #39573, 16 ga x 16 ga x 7x46R, 27" solid rib barrels choked modified and modified with bright near excellent bores; the rifle barrel exhibits some light frosting. The barrels retain 80% original blue finish with scratches and rub marks. The boxlock frame is engraved in lovely foliate scroll engraving with stippled fences, the surfaces have toned to a dull gray patina with oxidation stains. The checkered walnut pistolgrip buttstock rates very good showing light dings and a 3" chip on the left cheek. The checkered walnut forend rates excellent with light handling marks; the forend is missing its ebony forend tip. An engraved Dural metal bullet trap is fitted into the toeline of the stock and it holds four cartridges and there is a hard rubber buttplate which provides a 13 1/4" length of pull. The gun locks up slightly loose but functions well. (177951-12) {C&R} (700/900) SOLD FOR $718.75
