serial #173394, 32-20 WCF, 24'' part round part octagon barrel with two-thirds magazine and an about good bore showing scattered light pitting and strong rifling throughout. The special order features of this rifle include the part round part octagon barrel, two-thirds magazine and smooth steel shotgun buttplate. The barrel and magazine retain over 90% original blue showing some small dings, scattered light oxidation staining and some areas of minor thinning. The action retains about 85% original bright blue with the tangs and bottom of frame toning to gray-brown patina, scattered scratches and light staining. The loading gate retains most of its vibrant fire blue, the hammer shows strong remnants of case-hardened colors and the lever has toned to a light brown patina still showing case-hardened colors in some of the protected areas. The plain walnut stocks remain in very good plus condition showing mostly worn finish but excellent wood-to-metal fit, a couple tiny drying cracks at the buttplate, scattered light dings and handling marks. The rifle is sighted with standard sporting rear sight, small German silver blade front with set screw and the action seems to function well mechanically. This is a very attractive special order 1892. (138976-17) {C&R} (2000/3000) Sold For 2415.00
