serial #2167d, 9mm, 4'' barrel with a bright near excellent bore showing just a hint of light frosting. This is a lovely 1918-dated pistol retaining about 96% original blue showing light high edge wear, some spotty thinning to gray patina along the barrel, minor handling marks, operational wear and a few small dings on the edge of the triggerguard. The small parts retain most of their rich straw color with only some very minor silvering and freckling here and there. The grip screws retain strong remnants of fire blue while the sear spring and front sight retain particularly vibrant fire blue. The checkered hardwood grips are both stamp-numbered to the gun and remain in near excellent condition showing just a few lightly chipped points and minor handling marks. All of the markings are clear and all of the serialized parts are matching including the un-grooved firing pin. The frontstrap is stamped with a unit marking that reads ''JR.419.4K.9.'' likely indicating a Jaeger recruiting depot, which also explains the very high condition of this pistol. One mismatched bright-bodied wood base magazine in excellent condition is included; it is numbered rather close to this pistol (7788d). This all-matching Imperial Luger pistol would be very difficult to improve upon and would make for an excellent addition to any military collection.
