serial #929405, 32 W.S., 26" nickel steel octagon barrel with a bright excellent bore.  This is a very attractive high condition firearm manufactured in 1923.  The metal surfaces retain 97-98% strong original blue finish with a few specks of finish loss due to flaking located on the lever and forend cap. These areas now bear a pleasing brown patina that blends well.  Likewise there are a few specks of very, very faint pitting on the top flat of the barrel that would not be worth mentioning if not for the high condition of this rifle. The serrated steel buttplate overall has a rich brown patina with good traces of original blue remaining.  The capped plain pistol grip walnut buttstock and forend rate excellent plus to near mint having a few light handling marks and possibly some added finish that could easily pass for factory extra finish.  This takedown rifle is equipped with standard sights as well as a Lyman No. 2A tang peep sight.  A superb special order 1894 rifle worthy of any fine rifle collection.  (2238-2) {C&R}                  (3000/5000) SOLD FOR $7762.50
