serial # 3672, 45 ACP, 5" barrel with a very good bore showing strong rifling but with minor frosting in the grooves.  This 1909 manufactured auto pistol retains about 96% original blue, the loss due to high edge wear and some fading to brown on the front and back strap.  The hammer shows good mottled casehardened finish with excellent fire temper blue on the extractor.  Oddly Colt's verified proof triangle on the left side of the trigger guard is not present, and the caliber marking is somewhat light on the slide, however the finish is unmistakably factory and the rampant colt on the slide has excellent raised metal all around him.  With the crisp edges and honest wear this gun exhibits we feel the finish is original factory.  The diamond checkered walnut grips rate excellent.  Included is one original all blue magazine. Really a very very nice example of these early big bore autos.  (2267-6) {C&R}  (3000/5000) SOLD FOR $3737.50
