Superb Burnside 5th Model Civil War Carbine

serial #16312, 54 Caliber, 22" barrel with an excellent, bright bore.  This is a lovely carbine which has a 90-95% original blue on the barrel with faint freckling visible, bright case colors on the frame and almost all of the original fire bluing on the breech block and lever.  The only real finish loss has occurred on the sling bar and ring which exhibit dark brown mottling throughout.  The butt stock and forend have an excellent, original oil finish remaining with a crisp cartouche on the left side of the stock at the wrist and only a few minor handling blemishes here and there.  This is a great Civil War carbine which has retained nearly all of the original finish and rates excellent overall.  (2264-31) {ANTIQUE}   (2500/3000) SOLD FOR $4025.00
