Browning Superposed Special Chasse Game Gun

serial #56790S76, 12 Ga., 27 1/2" vent rib barrels choked improved cylinder over improved modified with excellent bores.  Essentially a European “C” grade exhibition gun, as-new in its original box with instruction manual and outer shipping sleeve.  The receiver retains all of its original coin finish and shows tight intricate scroll work.  The flats feature Cheverny C-2 engraving with lovely pheasants, auerhahn and quail.  Frame is signed by engraver Rene DeWil, a thirty year employee who retired in 1980.  Gun is equipped with a single selective trigger and ejectors.  The French walnut English style straight grip perch belly buttstock and schnabel forend rate excellent with sharp checkering and a hand rubbed satin oil finish.  The stock cheeks have dopper points (tear drops) nicely carved at their rear.  Comes up like a dream, length of pull to the “FN” buttplate is 14 5/16”, with drop at comb of 1 1/2” and 2 3/16” at heel.  A charming gun with a nice complement factory options.  (2215-27)  (4000/6000)
