serial #7491, 9mm, 4" barrel with a fine, bright bore having some very minor darkening along the grooves towards the breech.  This 1912 dated pistol has all matching numbers and was never sent back to the armory to be retrofitted with a hold-open device.  The steel retains about 90% of the original blue with fading along the projecting edges as well as a small amount of freckling at the muzzle and along the front strap around the unit marking.  The back strap has four horizontal notches under the lanyard loop (this pistol predates the stock lug and was never equipped with one).  The trigger, safety, ejector, magazine release, and takedown lever have retained traces of the original straw coloring with freckling starting to mix in.  The front strap is marked: "J.R. 161 6.K.15 (8.3. J.D.[obscured])" (Jager Regt. 161, 6 Co., Gun No. 15).  The checkered wooden grips are both numbered "91" on the interior and have some minor flattening along the points as well as some small handling marks, most noticeably on the right side panel.  Additionally, the right side grip screw is damaged and has snapped in half at the slot.  A single, unmarked, wood base magazine is included.  This is a very good-fine 1912 Luger, still in its original configuration.  (2217-38) {C&R}   (1500/2000) SOLD FOR $1725.00
