Winchester Model 1895 Deluxe Rifle in .405 Win.

serial #48691, 405 WCF, 24" round barrel with a bright excellent bore.  This is a lovely rifle.  The barrel retains 97% original blue finish.  The action retains 98% bright original blue finish.  The lever and magazine retain about 80% original blue with most loss being on lever right side where there is some light flaking and metal has turned to a pleasing smooth brown patina.  The checkered pistol grip walnut buttstock and forend rate excellent with 95% original finish remaining which shows just some very fine crazing.  The stocks are of beautifully figured walnut and schnabel tipped forend has its original ebony insert.  Rifle is fitted with a period (and although the factory records do not mention it, we feel original) solid red recoil pad.  Overall an extremely fine, high condition deluxe 1895 rifle in a most sought after chambering.  (2238-1) {C&R}  (8000/12,000) SOLD FOR $12075.00
