US Model 1863 Remington Zouave Percussion Rifle

.58 caliber, 33" round barrel with a bright minty bore.  While many Zouave muskets are found in high levels  of original condition, even among those, this is a very nice example.  The barrel of this rifle retains over 90% evenly thinning original blue finish with crisp clear markings.  The lockplate and hammer retain 95% strong original color case-hardened finish with crisp marks.  The walnut stock is excellent plus with just a few scattered light handling marks and two perfect cartouches.  All brass furniture bears a lovely untouched patina with some components showing traces of original lacquer.  Original spare nipple is present within patchbox.  The hammer screw does show slight damage to slot, this should be easy to swap with a less minty musket.  A great Zouave that would probably never need upgrading.  (2325-18) {ANTIQUE}  (3000/4000) SOLD FOR $4025.00
