serial #23350, 6.5 x 54MS, 20" barrel with a bright excellent bore. The metal surfaces retain about 97% later, hot immersion blue finish, the loss due primarily to fading and light wear from honest use. The magazine bottom plate has faded mostly to gray. The classic style, full-length stock features a rounded shadowline cheekpiece, grooved steel trapdoor buttplate, checkered grip and forend panels and a steel capped pistol grip with gold inlay of a coat of arms with the motto "Cave Grypem", purported to be the personal or family crest of Alfried Krupp, steel magnate and heir to the Krupp steel fortune (he died in 1967). The stock rates about excellent showing an older minor repair at the bone spacer between forend piece and rear stock proper. The gun has been professionally fitted with dual claw mounts which are quick release and mount a Nickel Supra 4X scope with European reticle and about excellent optics, there being some slight clouding in both ocular and objective lenses. There is a four piece cleaning rod under the buttrap and in addition to the striker mounted safety the gun features a Greener side safety. This is a lovely vintage sporting rifle in a light recoiling caliber. (2457-1) {C&R} (3000/4000) SOLD FOR $2587.50
