serial #12560, 8 x 56MS, 19 1/2" barrel with an excellent bore. Metal surfaces on this clean carbine retain about 97%-98% original blue, the trigger plate shows nice vivid case colors. There are some sparse areas of very light oxidation but they are unobtrusive. The barrel wears a full-length integral matted rib with a two leaf rear sight and a sporting gold bead front. The stock is of course full-length classic style with rounded cheekpiece, it rates excellent with only minor handling marks from the years. The pistol grip features a hard rubber grip cap and is dual panel checkered, the forend features a wrap-around pattern. The gun features factory sling swivel's and a trapdoor buttplate with two cartridge compartment and a third compartment which holds a four piece steel cleaning rod. Additionally the striker has been machined for a Lyman number 1A cocking piece aperture sight. This is a really excellent example of these handy little carbines in far better than normally encountered condition. (2452-27) {C&R} (1500/2000) SOLD FOR $2875.00
