serial #16508, 16 ga. over 8 x 57, 27 1/4" barrels have very good bright bores and are date coded "8/27". Right side of top barrels engraved "C.K. Ansorg" and left side of top barrels engraved "HOF". The action exhibits simple light scroll engraving and features cocking indicators and a Greener cross bolt. The barrels retain about 75% evenly thinning original blue finish. The barrels are equipped with a beaded blade front sight, flip-up rear as well as a set of claw scope bases. The action retains a medium gray brown patina with perhaps 20% faded original case, remaining. The front trigger is a single set and triggerguard is of horn as is grip cap and buttplate. The checkered pistol grip walnut buttstock and forend rate excellent as refinished with nice flat cheekpiece, very good checkering and a 14" length of pull. The top of comb has a 3/8" aluminum lined hole which we feel would accept a higher removable comb when scope is in use, this is now missing. Gun is equipped with a nice period German scope which is about 4 power and has post and crosshair reticle. Gun is a smidge loose. (2526-3) {C&R} (1000/1500) SOLD FOR $1035.00
