serial #63578, 22 RF, 2 3/8" barrel with an about good bore which shows light pitting and some minor oxidation. The metal surfaces on this nice little open top retain about 97% original nickel plate. The gun shows loose flowing scroll on the barrel, cylinder and frame in about 40% coverage, while loose and light in coverage the scroll is wonderful quality. The sides of the hammer show very minor oxidation staining with some like flaking around the flash areas on the breech face and face of the cylinder. There is some light oxidation and flaking around a few of the engraved scrolls on the cylinder itself. The gun comes with a nice antique pair of Ivory grips that are pencil-numbered to the gun. Removal of the grips reveals three different names penciled in beneath, they are not readily discernible, there are two dates as well, one is June 4, 1880, and another appears to be 1886. The gun seems to time and function mechanically very well. There is an old, odd repair through the top of the frame and the recoil shield which appears to have been a light braze or soldering to a crack in that area. It is un-obtrusive and the brass frame in that area is exposed. A nice little open top overall. (34372-3) {ANTIQUE} (1000/1500) SOLD FOR $1380.00
