serial #1561, 45 ACP, 5" barrel with a very good bore that has some minor pitting within the grooves ahead of the chamber mouth. This is a 1907 made pistol that has traces of the original blue mixing with a dark plum-brown patina and spots of applied cold blue on both the frame and slide. There is further gray fading along the projections and high edges throughout, heaviest on the gripstraps which are primarily a dull gray patina. The trigger and barrel have about 80-85% of the original blue remaining and the rounded hammer has a faded blue appearance rather than the original color case-hardening. The checkered double-diamond walnut grips are in good shape with light-moderate flattening of the points, most noticeably on the trailing edge of the right side panel, and a vertical with-the-grain crack on the left side running down from the top of the grip for about 1 1/2". There is a further short with-the-grain crack on the right side running up from the butt to the lower gripscrew bolster. A single original magazine accompanies the pistol which has only some minor fading on the edges and bearing surfaces. This is a good-very good example of a Model 1905 Colt overall which looks good and would make a fine representative example for a collection. (74350-3) {C&R} (1500/3000) SOLD FOR $2875.00
