.45 cal percussion, 42" octagon barrel with a bright excellent bore. The barrel retains a nice plum brown-pewter toning finish and is unmarked. The long thin bladed iron front sight has been slightly regulated, there is a semi-buckhorn shallow u-notch rear and a long spear-pointed tang. The Spartan lockplate and hammer retain about 97% original brown, the sharp edges toning to pewter. The iron hardware includes an iron nosecap, simple thimbles and tailpipe, single spur triggerguard, faceted buttplate and tear-drop shaped lock screw escutcheon. The curly maple stock shows stunning fiddleback figure its full-length and rates excellent with a nice squarish left side cheekpiece. Gun features a dual acting lock and double set triggers. Really a super looking-if Spartan-percussion long rifle. (34409-5) {ANTIQUE} (600/800) SOLD FOR $575.00
