703. Nice Remington UMC Counter Mat
This antique felt counter mat features a brilliant red border with gold inner border surrounding two Union Metallic Cartridge Company shotshells. The depicted 12ga. shells are the smokeless powder "Arrow" supreme quality shell and the smokeless powder "Nitro Club" moderately priced shell. The mat measures 13 1/2" x 11" and is very good plus to near excellent showing a few very minor insect damaged spots and a very lightly tattered corner. The rear of the mat features the original makers stamping "C.E.Akins/manufacturer/felt mats" with New York USA address. Really a very nice quality example in a nice state of preservation.
