779. Springfield Model 1884 Custom Trapdoor Rifle
serial #510006, 45-70, 24" barrel with a near excellent bore that has some very minor pitting toward the muzzle. The shortened barrel retains about 85% original blue with some overall fading and minor handling marks. The receiver retains about 75% muted case colors and is mostly fading to gray. The walnut stock has been modified as well to a Mannlicher style and refinished but the cartouche and firing proof are still visible. The barrel has a hooded ramp style front sight with the original Buffington rear. A nice sporting style trapdoor in very good to excellent condition. (44392-14) {ANTIQUE} (350/550) SOLD FOR $345.00 |
