serial #122245, 45 ACP, 5" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a 1915 manufactured pistol that has 75% of the original dull blued finish, mostly on the slide which has silvering at the muzzle and on the top radius of the slide at and ahead of the ejection port. The frame has been lightly cleaned, thinning the blue in the process, giving the metal the brushed blue appearance of later U.S. pistols. There are faint specks of brown freckling visible on the frontstrap and on the forward portion of the frame just behind an engraved presentation in flowing Palmer script, "F.A.S. to E.E.P". The checkered double-diamond grips are in very good condition with light-moderate flattening of the points, heaviest on the left panel which also has some minor peen marks and surface damage on the butt. A single unmarked two-tone lanyard loop magazine is included. This is a very good plus-near fine 1911 overall that has an unusual period presentation which warrants further research.
