serial #26384, 12ga., 32" barrels both choked about improved cylinder with bright very good plus to near excellent bores which show only sparse remnants of very light pitting. The barrels retain all their beautiful star damascus twist pattern with the rib showing a small handful of very minor dings or abrasions. The B-grade engraved frame shows light sprays of good quality scroll and geometric borderline engraving, it retains perhaps 95-97% original vivid color case-hardening, with fading along the upper tang and the carry point of the frame. The triggerguard as well shows some nice quality scroll and retains much original blue as does the forend iron. The checkered walnut capped pistolgrip buttstock rates excellent as professionally refinished showing a top-quality repair to a crack from the left of the top tang and a smaller crack at the rear of the right hammer; the repairs are stable and difficult to detect. The splinter style forend rates excellent as well and features a nice ebony tip inlay. The gun locks up tight and the barrels are on-face, the rebounding hammers are crisp and clean. Length of pull to the checkered hard rubber Ithaca buttplate 14 1/8" with drops of 1 3/4" and 3 1/8". Overall a very nice Crass-era New Ithaca Gun in a very seldom-encountered state of condition.
