serial #1, .25-06, 26" match-grade cut rifled barrel by Krieger with an as-new bore. This is a supreme, extremely rare action which features close-coupled double-set triggers and was made for rimless cartridges, specifically for .30-06 international-match target rifles, the hammer featuring a spring-loaded anti--blowback feature in case of a punctured primer. The arm retains all its original satin-finished blue with the engraved areas of the frame flats finished in-the-white. Frame features full coverage engraving with fine flowing English-style scroll with bulino engraved game scenes by master engravers Robert Swartley and Lee Griffiths. The left side features a bellowing bull elk while the right shows a standing antelope, indeed the Elk by Swartley became the Classic Arms logo. The wonderful quality scroll is duplicated on the face of the lever while the blued steel pistolgrip cap shows exceptional banknote filigree and scroll with a geometric diamond-shaped beaded gold inlaid border. The blued steel buttplate shows the same flawless scroll with identical beaded diamond-shaped gold inlay around the buttplate screws. The gun is stocked classic style with rounded shadowline cheekpiece in exceptional exhibition grade California crotch English walnut. The buttstock features flawless checkered panels with mullered borders while the forend features a wrap-around pattern and a lovely contrasting ebony tip; the forend escutcheon and screw exhibit the same quality engraving with beaded gold inlay around its periphery. The barrel is clean without sights and features a wonderful hand-matted quarter rib above the chamber. The rifle is equipped with a new Leupold Vari-X 3-9x compact telescopic sight with duplex reticle, the beautifully milled rings even have their screws engraved in a flower petal pattern. The rifle rides in a best-quality oak and leather case by Huey with outer canvas cover. The interior accessories by J. Lozito include horn-handled cleaning rod, matching turn screws and dust whisk, snap-cap and nitre-blued oil and grease bottles; compartment lid pulls are horn.
