serial #3810963, 30-06, 24" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a 1945 produced rifle with May, 1945 dated barrel that has nearly all correctly marked parts with the exception of the post war relief cut op-rod. The metal has 95% plus of the original parkerized finish with mild silvering along the exposed edges as well as on the bearing surfaces of the bolt and op-rod raceway. The op-rod itself has 98% of an added armory parkerized finish with the walnut stock and handguards having an armory oil finish added over only minor handling marks and blemishes, mostly on the buttstock, with a crisp "S.A./O." Springfield rebuild cartouche on the left side behind the pistol grip. The upper handguard matches the stock almost exactly while the rear handguard has a slightly lighter toned oil finish. The rifle comes with an o.d. green M1 sling and rates fine condition; an excellent post war rework of a wartime gun. (74756-12) {C&R} [Kurgan Collection] (800/1000) SOLD FOR $1035.00
