serial #6027, 32 rf, 26" barrel with a very good bore. This is a very handsome Wesson rifle which is equipped with a full length period scope that is unmarked but appears to be a Malcolm or Mogg. This scope is mounted in the front sight dovetail and in a neatly added dovetail just ahead of slotted link. The scope has clearly been in place since the period of use and the rifle has a beautiful added iron tab which is dovetailed into the top of the barrel and protrudes to the right and provides a handy thumb lever to assist in closing the action. The rifle is very honest and remains in nice condition with the barrel retaining 85% evenly thinning original blue finish. The scope matches the barrel beautifully in condition and color. The frame of this rifle retains about 30% bright original blue with the balance bearing a pleasing smooth brown patina. The hammer shows nice original color case-hardened finish. The buttstock remains in excellent condition with over 90% original finish remaining and with original crescent butt with nice faceted top tang. The rear barrel sight slot has been filled with a blank and the original tang sight base is intact but the staff is no longer present. This is a very handsome little Wesson two-trigger.
