The metal surfaces retain about 95% of a later blued finish that has light fading and is flaking to a brown patina. The military walnut stock has been customized and refinished as well and has an added pistol grip but rates very good overall. The rear sling swivel channel has been fitted with a piece of ivory and a newer swivel has been installed, the butt has remnants of a solid recoil pad. The rifle has had modern sights installed with an elongated ramp front and Rocky Mountain style rear. The rifle features a modified side box magazine with the gate being almost flush with the side of the rifle and has a simple toggle for retention and opening. The magazine cutoff has been removed.
