serial #8024628, 44-40 WCF (marked "44L"), 22" barrel with a bright excellent bore. The barrel retains about 90-92% original blue while the magazine tube has toned primarily to a mix of flaked brown and fading original blue. The receiver retains perhaps 90% original blue as well with an overall light speckling of light oxidation staining and wear to pewter on the high edges, the left side also showing saddlering wear. The lever shows some generous amounts of case colors at its root while the balance has toned primarily to a speckled brown and pewter patina, the hammer shows vibrant case color on its sides while the spine has muted somewhat, the spur toning to brown. The European walnut stocks rate very good to near excellent, perhaps showing an old light cleaning but also retaining light dings and handling marks from the years. The gun has what appears to be original sling swivels and the original sights are intact. Really a very good example overall in much better than a normally encountered condition.
