serial #4971/129, 9 mm Bergmann Bayard, 3 7/8" barrel with a bright excellent bore. The metal surfaces on this Danish-manufactured "Haerens Tojhus" marked vintage semi-auto pistol retain about 85-90% original blue, the loss is due primarily to light fading and high edge contact point wear. The hammer, trigger and magazine release are polished bright and are mostly brilliant with perhaps a tiny oxidation stain or two. The circular press-checkered arsenal-fitted walnut grips rate very good with overall minor handling marks and light dings from use, the left grip is appropriately numbered "129" while the right grip is numbered "160". The extractor retains vivid fire tempered blue and the magazine and front extension of the frame are both numbered "129" with the front extension also being marked "Rkv". About 900 of these pistols were produced at Haerens Tojhus between 1922 and 1924, this example is proofed 1922. The gun comes with an original metal-tipped Danish holster which rates very good plus to near excellent overall with tight stitching and seams the cover flap being marked "(Royal Crown)/HV". The steel cleaning rod is intact along the leading edge of the holster. Really a very complete and rather nice example of the Danish arsenal-manufactured Bergmann Bayard pistol.
