15. Fine Special Order Marlin Model 1895 Lever Action Takedown Rifle

serial #144405, 45-70, 26" octagon barrel with a bright near excellent bore. This rifle features a special order shorter than standard magazine tube and is in the takedown configuration. The rifle remains in very nice condition with the barrel and magazine retaining 97% strong original blue finish. The action shows about 95% original color case-hardened finish which has softened some over time but is almost all there. The plain walnut buttock and forend rate excellent with 95% original finish and with scattered light handling marks. The rifle is sighted with standard open sporting sights and what looks to be a factory supplied Lyman folding tang mounted peepsight.
