serial #17098, 32 RF, 6" octagon barrel with a near excellent bright bore that shows just a couple small patches of light surface oxidation. This is a very nice Smith Army. The barrel retains about 50% bright original blue finish with most loss being due to flaking and with those areas bearing a pleasing smooth brown patina. The cylinder retains about 60% original blue with flaked areas bearing a pleasing smooth brown patina. The frame retains about 70% bright original blue with most loss being on the front and rear straps which are a smooth brown patina. The smooth rosewood grips rate excellent with 97% original finish remaining with just a couple little chips around the butt. The hammer shows a pleasing mix of faded original color case-hardened finish and a pewter colored patina. This is a very crisp example of these finely made American cartridge revolvers. (17863-24) {ANTIQUE} (2000/3000) SOLD $2,185.00
