serial #A6792, 22 S, L, LR, 24" barrel with a bright near excellent bore with a handful of scattered soft pits. This is a fine Model 97 rifle. The barrel and magazine tube retain 97-98% original blue finish with a few spots thinning to dull pewter and a few oxidation stains, mostly near the muzzle; the bolt retains nearly all of its bright blue finish. The frame and lever retain 97% original case-hardened colors which have a nice aged look to them, the only real loss being on the lever which has toned to a silvery-gray case-hardened patina, with a couple of tiny specks of oxidation staining here and there. The straight grip walnut buttstock and forend rate excellent with nearly all of the original finish remaining with the exception of a small pair of blemishes on the toeline. Rifle is sighted with a blade front sight, the rear dovetail has been blanked and a Marbles rebounding tang sight has been affixed. Overall a wonderful little 97 takedown that would be a joy to shoot or add to the collection. (157822-1) {C&R} (1200/1800) SOLD $1,840.00
