44. Swedish M41 Bolt Action Sniper Rifle by Carl Gustafs

Click on images for enlarged versions.

serial #514906, 6.5x55 Swedish, 29" barrel with a bright excellent bore. The metal surfaces of this 1927 vintage rifle retain 90% arsenal applied blue finish with some fading on barrel, thinning on bolt takedown, floorplate and triggerguard. The buttplate shows oxidation staining throughout and the maple stock rates very good plus with an armory added oil finish, scattered handling marks, minor stains and dings. The stock has two Swedish Crown inspection stamps and a crisp "Crown/S" stamp indicating that the rifle is a sniper rifle. The cocking knob, safety and safety are numbered "966" which may be an arsenal mis-stamp, cleaning rod appears unnumbered and we are unable to determine the rear sight serial number, but all other visible rifle parts are matching to the receiver. The stock disc is unit marked T5/42/No601" and the rifle is sighted with an AGA Model 41 scope that has a post-reticle with slightly hazy optics. The scope tube retains 70% arsenal blue finish with scattered fading and the scope mount and base are both numbered to a different gun as-is typical with Swedish Sniper rifles. Half of a leather scope cap set and a muzzle guide for the cleaning rod are included with this rifle. A nice example of these highly-desirable Swedish Sniper rifles.
