serial #EG3541, 7.62x54 Russian, 25" barrel with a good plus bore that shows frosting and pitting throughout but strong rifling. The metal surfaces of this 1941 vintage rifle retain 90% arsenal blue with silvering on heat shield, magazine, buttplate and thinning on receiver area. The birch stock rates very good as cleaned with a 1" crack at front of handguard, a few stains, handling marks and light dings. The stock is numbered to the gun on left side of butt, bolt is unnumbered and magazine and triggerguard are mismatched. The rifle is equipped with an original 1943 dated Progress PU scope mounted on an aftermarket mount that fits into the grooves of the receiver. The scope tube retains 95% arsenal blue with some fading on front and it has a post reticle with optics that show a slight green tint. Also included are a correct Soviet leather scope cap set. A very good condition SVT-40 that will likely shoot quite well. (207849-54) {C&R} (1000/1500) SOLD $1,495.00
