serial #55371, 9 mm, 4 3/4" barrel with a mostly bright very good plus bore which shows some light frosting in the grooves. The metal surfaces retain about 75-80% original blue, the loss toning to plum brown with some wear to pewter on the sharp edges and contact points. There are scattered very light handling marks here and there and very light oxidation on the straps but no evident pitting. This example features the tangent rear sight graduated to 500 m and is slotted for shoulder stock at the rear of the butt. The checkered walnut grips rate very good with light wear and very minor flattening of the points along the edges. Pistol exhibits Nazi acceptance marks and is Waffenamt 613 stamped, the magazine Waffenamt 140 marked. Barrel, slide and frame are all numbered alike; the slide exhibits a few light reassembly scratches around the maker marking but they are light. Overall a very nice example of a late tangent sighted and slotted P.640(b). (37865-44) {C&R} [Donnie Albin Collection] (2000/3000) SOLD $2,587.50
