serial #421436, 44-40, 15" round barrel with full magazine and a bright near excellent bore that shows an area of light pitting. This carbine has been removed by serial number from the provisions of the NFA and comes with the BATFE letter stating such. The condition of this little "Trapper" is quite nice with the barrel and magazine retaining about 60% original blue which is fading evenly and beginning to blend with a smooth brown patina. The action retains about 40% original blue with the balance bearing a smooth even brown patina. The top of the receiver is factory engraved "Policias Fiscales Chile", Chiles first professional national police force. There is a light scratch on the bolt and some other smaller light scratches here or there that are minor in nature. The plain walnut buttstock and forend rate very good plus with lots of original finish and scattered light handling marks. The saddle ring is in place as is the carbine style steel buttplate, stud front sight and carbine rear. This carbine has a really nice appearance and unlike so many from South America, this example has some wonderful finish left and was used and well cared for and then retired to the cabinet. A very nice Marlin Trapper. (17751-9) {C&R} (3500/5500) SOLD FOR $5,462.50
