serial #705753, 45 ACP, 5" Colt barrel with an excellent bore. This 1924 made pistol retains strong condition with about 85% factory blue. The grip frame is thinning to pewter along with high edge wear, slide toning to brown, pitting, a few oxidation blemishes and light handling wear. The earlier 1911 double diamond checkered walnut grips rate about good to very good with light to moderate diamond point wear and handling marks. The grips may have been changed out at a later date but due to the transitional nature of the early 1911A1's made in 1924 it could have been stock on hand that was used. The slide is marked with a Rampant Colt between the patent dates and slide address and the right side of the slide is marked "MODEL OF 1911 U.S. ARMY". All parts are correct for this gun and Captain Walther T. Gorton's double circle inspectors mark on the frame remains crisp. The pistol includes a single American Pin Co. two-tone magazine with pinned base. This will make a fine addition to any Government Model collection. (88100-70) {C&R} [Walter "Walt" Rauch Collection] (2000/3000) SOLD FOR $2,760.00
