1038. Winchester Model 1894 Special Order Saddle Ring Carbine

serial #368022, 38-55, 20" round barrel and half magazine and a very good bore showing evident rifling with scattered pinprick pitting and oxidation staining. The barrel retains an overall pale brown patina with light muzzle wear, scattered fine oxidation staining and tiny impact marks and scratches, the exposed surfaces of the magazine tube retaining about 98% original blue with light wear on the cap. The action retains a pale brown patina with scattered fine staining, a few tiny impact marks and light silvering along the edges. The hammer and lever retain a similar finish with a few more impact marks and spots of flaking original finish. The plain gumwood buttstock and forend rate good with a repaired crack in both sides of the wrist and light dents and handling marks in an added gloss varnish that is flaking in spots and a larger indentation in the rear right edge of the forend. The steel buttplate and barrel band have a brownish-gray patina with with light pitting at the heel and toe. Carbine is sighted with a standard post front sight and carbine rear sight.
