Description Update (3/15/17): Action is modern not antique

serial #6822, 40-65 Win.(S), 30" round barrel with a bright excellent bore and a 1-in-16" twist. The barrel retains about 98-99% excellent quality rust blue with a neatly polished and counterbored muzzle. The frame, lever and breechblock retain a similar amount of vibrant restored color case-hardening; the small screws all neatly fire blued. The rifle is stocked classic style for a left-handed shooter in a very nice grade of Circassian walnut. The saw-handled pistolgrip and forend rate excellent and show flawlessly executed borderless checkered panels; the butt features a right-side flared shadowline cheekpiece. The forend is keyed to the barrel with a single wedge and tenon and features an ebony tip, while the butt features a 13 3/4" length of pull to the front trigger from the checkered gutta-percha buttplate. The rifle features a very nice globe front sight, adjustable for windage, with spirit level and a mid-range tang-mounted aperture sight at the rear. The barrel has been drilled and tapped for two steel target blocks, which are present, and the action features dual gutta-percha panels; the rifle is equipped with double set triggers. Included with the arm are a set of reloading dies, 115 pieces of formed brass, 100 projectiles and loading data. Overall a very lovely antique single shot rifle with some really super wood, that likely shoots very well. (38085-17) {ANTIQUE} (3000/5000) SOLD FOR $3,450.00
