serial #50835, 40-65 WCF, 22" round barrel with full magazine and a bright excellent bore. The barrel and magazine of this scarce 1886 Saddle Gun retain a pleasing even gray brown patina. The action is a silver gray patina with slightly softened edges likely from a light cleaning done long ago. The left side of the frame shows some light scratches and a light ring shadow. The carbine is sighted with standard stud mounted ramp front and express rear. The plain walnut buttstock and forend rate near excellent and have great color, the buttstock possibly being a wonderful older replacement. The lower tang shows a repaired crack through the rear most screwhole almost at the tip, the repair is difficult to see and is in no way obtrusive. The hammer sets at cock slightly lower than normal full cock and there is no safety notch. This is a good solid entry level 1886 Saddle Gun. (18087-62) {ANTIQUE} [Kenneth Fry Collection] (3000/5000) SOLD FOR $3,910.00
