serial #2803, 41 RF, 24" octagon barrel with a very good bore that is bright for most of its length but shows a few large areas of pitting near muzzle. The metal surfaces are an overall dull brown patina with oxidation staining and freckling throughout. The walnut stock rates very good overall with the tang being a bit proud of wood, an area of chipping around the toe, a couple of other minor chips, a few scattered dings and handling marks. The rear of the stock has a vacant sling stud hole, the rifle has an open rear sight and there is no front sight present. The bore "mics" at about 41 caliber which is unusual as most of these were made in 32, 38 or 44 caliber and there is a sling swivel mounted on the barrel. An interesting Frank Wesson rifle overall. (207951-7) {ANTIQUE} [Tweed Herendeen Collection] (600/800) SOLD FOR $488.75
