serial #190889, 25-35, 26" part round part octagon barrel with a very good bore showing overall fine oxidation, pinprick pitting and good rifling the entire length. This rifle is in standard configuration except for the half octagon barrel and shotgun butt. The barrel and magazine retain about 90% original blue evenly thinning to brown with light edge wear, silvering along the muzzle and magazine cap and scattered fine oxidation staining and a couple tiny light scratches and impact marks. The action retains about 30% original blue nicely blending with a gray and brown patina with scattered fine oxidation staining and a couple minor impact along the front edges of the receiver. The hammer and lever have to toned to a gray brown patina with some sparse fine staining and generous traces of case colors along the protected edges. The plain walnut buttstock and forend rate very good showing a light cleaning and added oil and a few light handling marks. The checkered hard rubber logo shotgun buttplate rates near excellent showing minimal wear but is a bit proud of the wood and most likely a later replacement. The original front sight has been replaced with what appears to be a Redfield No. 63 globe sight, the rear sight resembles a Marble's folding leaf rear sight and a Marble's W-1 peep sight is mounted on the rear tang. An overall very good special order Model 1894 in a rarer sought after caliber. (58087-122) {C&R} (1500/2000) SOLD FOR $2,415.00
