Description Update (3/15/17): 6" repaired crack left of forend and "HH" carved in butt

serial #15409, 45-60, 22" round barrel with full magazine and an excellent bore. The metal surfaces of this carbine bear a lovely, even and smooth brown patina. All metal surfaces remain smooth and free of pitting with markings remaining clear and legible. The top of the barrel has lines filed perpendicularly in the top surface through the barrel address, they are small and literally only affect three letters in the address. The plain walnut stock and full length forend rate very good with about 50% original finish remaining and a long crack which emanates from the rear of the tang all the way to the buttplate. It seems very sound and does not go through to the other side, an odd crack. The carbine is sighted with standard carbine sights. The carbine comes with a factory letter listing serial numbers 15407, 15408 and 15409 all as 45-60 carbines, all received on August 6, 1881 and all shipped the same day on the same order. A good honest example of these scarce carbines. (18087-77) {ANTIQUE} [Kenneth Fry Collection] (3000/4000) SOLD FOR $4,600.00
