serial #422891, 32 W.S., 26" octagon nickel steel barrel with full magazine and a bright excellent bore. This is a nice rifle, the barrel and magazine retain 95-98% original blue, loss due to light edge wear, a couple tiny impact marks towards the rear lower left side of the magazine tube along with scattered sparse tiny nicks and storage scuffs. The action retains about 90% original blue evenly blending to brown, loss due to even edge and gripping wear. The color case-hardened hammer and lever are muting to a soft gray with good original colors visible under bright light. The crescent steel buttplate has toned to a bright pewter patina with marks possibly from an old light cleaning and the forend nosecap is toning to brown gray with about 40% thinning original blue finish present. The rifle is sighted with a Lyman ivory bead front sight, a Winchester Smokeless rear sight and a Lyman DA peep sight on the rear tang. The lower left front receiver screw shows slot wear. A lovely, honest 1908 production 1894 rifle. (58196-8) {C&R} (1500/2000) SOLD FOR $1,955.00
