serial #42, 38-50 Remington, 28" gain-twist target weight stainless steel barrel with a bright excellent bore. The barrels polished finish rates excellent with a sparsely scattered minor handling mark here or there, it is "Burgin's Gun Shop/Sidney Ctr., N.Y." marked and caliber stamped for a 38-50 Remington paper patched bullet. The Peregrine action retains all its original blue with some very light wear on the sharp edges and contact points, the top edge of the safety slightly relieved for cartridge clearance into the chamber. The rifle is stocked for a left-handed shooter in a nice piece of Circassian walnut with a generous benchrest-style buttstock with Monte Carlo and right-side shadowline flared cheekpiece. The forearm is flat-bottomed, both rate excellent with a minor handling mark here or there. The length of pull to the 1/2" rifle pad is 14" from the front trigger. The rifle is equipped with double set triggers, manual thumb safety and the barrel has been drilled and tapped for steel target blocks which are present. Included with the arm is a breech seater, two bullet molds, forming dies, a selection of brass cases (about 2 1/2 pounds) and roughly 200 cast projectiles. Really a very nicely-executed rifle that would be a joy to take to the range. Loading information is included as well as an article on paper patched bullets.
