Click on images for enlarged versions.

serial #19984, 45-70, 32" barrel with a very good plus bore that shows a few minor pits. The metal surfaces have turned a dull gray patina with scattered freckling and oxidation staining on barrel, buttplate, receiver, bolt and magazine. The walnut stock rates very good with a few small chips in cleaning rod channel, a few abrasions, scattered dings, scratches and handling marks. The receiver ring is marked with a Chinese inscription and the rifle is fitted with a saber bayonet lug on the right side of barrel. It is estimated that between 8,000 and 10,000 of these rifles were purchased by the Chinese government and this very rifle is pictured on Pg. 245 of the book the Guns of Remington by Madaus and Goodwin. A very good example of a hard-to-find Remington Lee rifle. (207597-23) {ANTIQUE} (1500/2500) SOLD FOR $5,175.00
