serial #1635, 22 LR, 4 3/4" barrel with a bright excellent bore. The metal surfaces retain about 95-97% original blue, the loss is due to some very light front strap wear, muzzle wear at the front of the slide and some light high edge and contact point wear; there is a very light impact mark at the left rear sharp edge on the slide, it is unobtrusive. The bright-polished surface of the barrel shows only some very light staining and operational usage. The fully checkered walnut grips rate very good plus to excellent showing only some very minor flattening of the points. Included are two original two-tone magazines, the original box pencil-numbered to the gun, an instruction manual, Colts "special instructions" pamphlet and the original test target serial numbered to the pistol. The box itself is somewhat tender showing old paper-taped repairs to the lid, now also bolstered with cellophane tape on both box top and bottom, a couple of corners showing small missing pieces. There is a very very light reassembly scratch on the left side of the frame and the very rear of the hammer spur has been dressed and relieved during the period of use, it is well done and unobtrusive, another hammer could easily be obtained if one wished. A very nice Commercial Ace overall. (38100-24) {C&R} [Walter "Walt" Rauch Collection] (2500/4500) SOLD FOR $4,887.50
