serial #2477a, 8mm Mauser, 24" barrel with a very good bore that shows some light pitting near muzzle and scattered frosting. The metal surfaces of this S/42G coded and 1935 vintage rifle retain 90% later applied blue with scattered fading, freckling and some light pitting on receiver. The walnut stock rates very good with an added oil finish, scattered dings, handling marks, abrasions and scratches. The underside of the stock is marked with two "(Nazi Eagle)/WaA63" Waffentamts, the letter "K" and "S/42" some of which are likely post-service applied. The safety is unnumbered, we are unable to verify the rear sight numbers due to the scope but all visible parts appear to be matching with many of them appearing renumbered to match and bearing incorrect Waffenamts. The rifle is sighted with a ZF-41 scope that is coded "dow" and may be a reproduction. The optics have a post reticle and have a slight tint and the scope tube retains 95% original blue. The scope is mounted on what-appears to be a reproduction "duv" coded and "(Eagle)/214" mount and reproduction base giving the scope a slightly "up-hill" cant. No cleaning rod is present but a reproduction folding muzzle cap is included. A solid post-war assembled ZF-41 rifle for the budget minded military collector. (207997-1) {C&R} (1000/1500) SOLD FOR $1,380.00
