serial #9282, 9 mm, 4" barrel with a very good bore which shows sharp rifling but with light frosting and minor pitting within the grooves. The metal surfaces retain about 80-85% original blue, the primary loss being toning to gray on the front and back straps, also with areas of light pinprick pitting there. There is some toning on the high edges and contact points as well and light pitting on the left side of the muzzle boss. The ejector, magazine release and right side of trigger show some very good fading straw colors while the takedown lever and safety have toned primarily to a pewter. All of the numbered parts are matching including the grooved firing pin and the toggle is "Simson & Co./Suhl" marked. The arm exhibits typical Simson inspection marks as well as the Simson army test proof on the right side of the receiver. The checkered walnut grips rate good to about very good showing a number of compressed and flaked points, they are stamp-numbered to the gun on their interior. Included with the gun is a single wood-based magazine numbered "9769" with a small "+" mark beneath. The body is bright showing a bit of light flaking and very light oxidation. The left grip is slightly loose and the edges of the magazine base show some light chipping but these are very minor issues. Overall a slightly salty example of the very rarely encountered Simson & Co. Luger. (38050-136) {C&R} (2000/3000) SOLD FOR $2,300.00
