serial #3835363, 30-06, 24" 4-45 dated Springfield barrel with a very good plus bore that shows some scattered minor frosting. The receiver and bolt show a thinning arsenal parkerized finish with a couple small spots of oxidation staining. The floorplate and triggerguard retain 97% arsenal parkerized finish with some scattered silvering scratches, while the barrel and gas cylinder retain about 90% arsenal parkerized finish with scattered silvering. The walnut stock rates very good as-lightly cleaned with an added oil finish, a partially faded ordnance wheel, a paritally faded "SA/NFR" cartouche, a strong circle "P" firing proof, a few abrasions, scattered dings, handling marks and scratches. The major parts appear to be all correct for a late-war Garand including an uncut "-9 SA" operating rod and type III lockbar rear sights; a GI type canvas sling is included. A solid example of a correct World War Two Garand for the military collector. (208112-90) {C&R} [Marsell Collection] (1000/1500) SOLD FOR $1,265.00
