serial #236y, 9mm, 4" barrel with a bright about excellent bore showing only minor frosting along its length. The metal surfaces retain about 98% original blue, the loss due to very light muzzle and sharp edge wear. This is a full 1941 chamber-dated, all blue example with the 7-line Mauser Banner on the toggle. All of the visible numbered parts are matching including the grooved firing pin. This superb pistol is equipped with a sear safety and features an "eagle/(N)" commercial proof on the left side of the receiver and an "eagle/(L) police acceptance mark on the right side. The checkered walnut grips rate very good plus with the right side grip showing a number of chipped or flattened diamonds, it is un-numbered and "SE-655" stamped on its interior. The Left side grip has only minor flattening of the points, it is stamp-numbered "42" and also "SE-655" stamped on its interior. Included with this fine pistol is a single blue-bodied aluminum-based magazine that is un-numbered and maker marked "Haenel Schmeisser Patent" and rates about excellent with minor fading of the blue. These 1941-dated chambers continued for only 600 examples (1y-600y), after which time they went to a two-digit date code above the chamber, making police accepted Lugers within this short serial number range, with the full 1941 date, to be true rarities. (218112-59) {C&R} [Marsell Collection] (3000/5000) SOLD FOR $2,760.00
